BIOGRAPHY
Kara Held, PhD brings an extensive knowledge of cell biology and pharmacology as the Science Director to The Baker Company.  Prior to her coming on board, she was a Lab Manager, Safety Officer, and Researcher at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute studying Spinal Muscular Atrophy using iPS cell-derived motor neurons. She earned her PhD at the University of Vermont Cell and Molecular Biology Program and completed her postdoctoral training at Yale University in the Vascular Biology and Therapeutics program studying mechanisms of blood vessel regulation. Her recent experience in academic research brings a unique perspective, familiarity and hands-on knowledge base with laboratory science and biosafety, which she now applies toward education and product testing as a part of the New Product Development team.
